138 Mr. Barry asked the Minister for Justice when the Garda Radio Advisory Committee will be making their report to him on the precise type of radio and other technological equipment to be used at the new Garda divisional headquarters at Anglesea Street, Cork; and if he will be making the required finance available for its purchase and installation.
I am informed by the Garda authorities that they are finalising their requirements for the enhancement of the radio system for Cork city. Their proposals, when received, will be assessed by the Garda Radio Advisory Committee and, in accordance with normal contracts procedures, tenders will then be sought for the equipment concerned.
Provision for the expenditure involved has been included in the Garda Estimate, 1992.
