267 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for the Environment if he will give details of the number of new house starts provided for in each of the last ten years to the following local authorities, (a) Waterford Corporation (b) Waterford County Council and (c) Dungarvan Urban District Council.
Until 1989, my Department did not specify the number of houses which a housing authority was authorised to start each year. Accordingly, I refer to the reply to Questions Nos. 13, 20, and 120 of 26 October, 1988 which shows the actual numbers of starts achieved for each year from 1982 to 1987, inclusive. The following table sets out for the authorities concerned the numbers of houses actually started in 1988 and the numbers of starts authorised for the years 1989 to 1991 inclusive:
