Ceist:

69 Mr. Byrne asked the Minister for Education the number of primary schools which have applied for a remedial teacher but have not yet received sanction; the number of primary schools where remedial teachers have been hired at the expense of parents; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

My Department have applications for remedial teachers from approximately 600 primary schools at present.

My Department do not have records on cases where remedial teachers may have been hired at the expense of parents.
