81 Mr. T. O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Education if he will outline the status of the report of the committee on in-service education in relation to the policy of his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
I presume that the Deputy is referring to the recent report on in-service education commissioned at my Department's request through the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment. Following consideration of that report, a specialised unit was established in the Department of Education in January last to determine, in consultation with the NCCA, the priorities in the allocation of available funds for in-service education and the methods of delivery of training. Further reference to in-service education will be made in the forthcoming Green Paper on Education.
