Ceist:110 Mr. Barry asked the Minister for Finance if he has any proposals to introduce legislation to establish a regulatory agency for the Stock Exchange to protect small investors.

I have only certain limited powers relating to the Stock Exchange under legislation dating from 1799. It is the intention to allocate responsibility for the regulation of the Stock Exchange to the Central Bank and legislation is being prepared to bring this change into effect.
