Ceist:113 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Education if he will outline the recognition and funding his Department provide for day-boarding schools; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The position in relation to boarding schools which enrol day pupils also is that, if they do not charge fees for day pupils, a per capita grant of £150 is paid by my Department in respect of each recognised day pupil.
If the boarding fee is less than £1,550 per annum the per capita grant of £150 is paid in respect of all recognised pupils, day and boarders.
