Vol. 418 No. 4

Written Answers. - Medical Card Eligibility.

Eric J. Byrne

Ceist:

135 Mr. Byrne asked the Minister for Health the reason a 70 year old person (details supplied) in Dublin 12 who had a medical card up until September 1991, has now had it withdrawn; and if he will outline the circumstances which have changed to bring about this situation.

The question of determining eligibility for a medical card in individual cases is a matter for the chief executive officer of the appropriate health board. Accordingly, this question has been referred to the chief executive officer of the Eastern Health Board with a request that he examine the matter urgently and reply directly to the Deputy.
