Ceist:244 Mr. Clohessy asked the Minister for Labour the number of redundancies in Limerick city and county notified to his Department in 1990-91.

Statistics of notified redundancies giving a breakdown between Limerick City and county are not available in my Department as such statistics are recorded on a county basis only. The number of redundancies notified in County Limerick — which includes Limerick City — in 1990 was 370 and in 1991 was 716.
It must be stressed that the figures given for the two years in question relate to notifications of proposed redundancies under the Redundancy Payments Acts and not to actual redundancies.
