Ceist:

97 Mr. McCartan asked the Minister for Justice if he is considering any review of the Carriage Acts, 1853 and 1854, with particular regard to hackney drivers in Dublin or elsewhere; whether he proposes legislation in this area; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Any proposals for legislation which the Government may have in this matter, will be announced in the ordinary way in due course. I should point out that my Department may not be the only Department concerned with this matter.
