166 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for the Environment if approval has been sought from his Department by Dublin Corporation to fund rewiring works from capital funds for 1991 and 1992; and, if so, if he will outline his response to this request.
In October 1991, Dublin Corporation sought approval to the use of housing capital receipts to fund, among other things, rewiring and electrical works in older flat complexes for which remedial works scheme funding has not been sought. The Corporation subsequently indicated, on inquiry, that they had no surplus capital receipts and accordingly the question of approving their proposal did not arise.
