Vol. 419 No. 5

Written Answers. - World Environment Conference.

Nora Owen

Ceist:

53 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for the Environment if he will give details of Ireland's submission for the world environment conference in June in Rio de Janeiro; and whether he will be attending this conference.

The Irish National report to the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development has been published and submitted to the UNCED secretariat. It is being made widely available and has been circulated to Deputies and Senators.

As has already been announced, the Irish Government representation at the Rio Conference will include, for appropriate periods, the Taoiseach, the Minister for the Environment, the Minister for Environmental Protection and the Minister of State at the Department of Foreign Affairs.
