147 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for Health the reason for the continuing delay in providing for a replacement hospital for St. Mary's Geriatric Hospital, Drogheda on the site at Dublin Road, Drogheda in County Louth as promised by successive Ministers and Governments; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
I am visiting Drogheda on Thursday next 14th instant to discuss this very matter with some members and officials of the North-Eastern Health Board. Following this meeting it should be possible to take a firm decision on the future roles of St. Mary's and The Cottage Hospitals and I will communicate this decision to the Deputy as soon as possible.
