Vol. 420 No. 4

Written Answers. - Letterkenny (Donegal) Road Works.

Patrick D. Harte

Ceist:

145 Mr. Harte asked the Minister for the Environment if, in view of (a) the urgent need to complete road works at Mountain Top, Letterkenny, County Donegal, which were commenced by the county council but remain unfinished because of shortage of money and (b) the dangerous situation which exists which is nothing short of treacherous, he will provide additional money to carry out this very urgent and much needed development.

Donegal County Council's proposals for the realignment and widening of national secondary road N56 at Mountain Top, Letterkenny are under examination. Due to competing demands from other schemes and the limited funds available for improvements to national secondary roads, it was not possible to provide funding for this work in the current year. It will, however, be considered for funding in the determination of the 1993 road grant allocations.
