Vol. 420 No. 4

Written Answers. - State Offices.

Brian O'Shea

Ceist:

72 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Finance if he will give details of the amount of empty office space the Government are currently renting or leasing in the Dublin area which has been vacated by sections of the public service relocating out of Dublin and the annual rental cost of this accommodation; the action, if any, he proposes to take; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

There is no empty space in Dublin as a result of the decentralisation programme. All such space has either been disposed of or allocated to Civil Service staff to relieve overcrowding or to cater for new Government services.
