194 Mr. V. Brady asked the Minister for Tourism, Transport and Communications if she will give details of the number of Parliamentary Questions tabled to her for the year 1991 and the total cost involved; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

A total of 484 Parliamentary Questions relating to the functions of my Department were answered during 1991.

To accurately assess the cost of answering a Parliamentary Question would require my Department to carry out a detailed investigation, which has not been possible in the time available. In this regard, I would refer the Deputy to a reply given by the Minister for Finance on 13 February last to a question on the cost of researching and answering Parliamentary Questions.
