305 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will outline the up-to-date position regarding the transfer of staff from his Department to Waterford as part of the Government's decentralisation programme; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
In accordance with the provisions of the Government's decentralisation programme, some 150 staff are to be transferred to Waterford of which 25 are to come from my Department. To this end a list of volunteer civil servants for transfer has been compiled. A brief of requirements in respect of my Department's share of the Waterford decentralisation project is being worked on at present.
