Vol. 421 No. 4

Written Answers. - County Tipperary Fire Stations.

Michael Ferris

Ceist:

32 Mr. Ferris asked the Minister for the Environment whether he has received tenders from Tipperary South Riding County Council for the provision of a new fire station at Knockinrawley, County Tipperary; if so, if he will outline when these tenders can be approved; when it is expected that this project can commence; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Ceist:

235 Mr. Ferris asked the Minister for the Environment if his Department have received tenders from Tipperary South Riding County Council for the proposed fire station at Knockinrawley, Tipperary; when approval is likely to issue for this essential service; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 32 and 235 together.

A proposal from Tipperary South Riding County Council to accept a tender in this case is being considered in conjunction with other fire service capital proposals and in the light of the funds available for the development of the service. I will communicate with the Council in the matter as soon as possible.
