Vol. 424 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Tom Enright

Ceist:

106 Mr. Enright asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the present position on the suckler cow grant application of a person (details supplied) in County Offaly; and if this person will be paid any such grant.

The person named applied for 1991 Suckler Cow Premium Scheme grants on eight animals on 25 May 1991 and gave an undertaking to keep those animals or replacement cows or in-calf heifers on her holding for a period of six months from the date of lodgment of her application. At the inspection on 22 August 1991, three of the eight animals applied on were found to be missing from her herd and she had no replacements. She has given reasons as to why she was unable to maintain the animals for the six months and has been requested to submit documentation in support of her claim. When she does so the question of her eligibility for grants under that scheme will be considered further.
