Ceist:187 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Health if he will expedite surgery for hip replacement for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo.

I understand that the person in question is on the out-patient waiting list. It is not possible to give an appointment date at this stage. Should the person feel that their condition has deteriorated, they should return to their general practitioner who will be in the best position to emphasise the urgency of their case to the consultant directly.
