Ceist:242 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Galway did not receive his 1991 suckler cow grant; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

This person has been deemed ineligible for payment of grants under the 1991 Suckler Cow Premium Scheme because two animals on which he applied for premium were missing at an inspection of his herd. He informed the inspecting officer that the missing animals had died but the District Livestock Office was not notified as required under the Terms and Conditions of the Scheme.
