I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given to the Ceann Comhairle under Standing Order 20 (3) (a) and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Cotter — the proposals, if any, to downgrade Monaghan General Hospital; (2) Deputy Allen — if the Minister for the Environment has sought or obtained figures on the number of applications for local authority housing arising from repossessions and evictions for all local authorities for each of the years 1990, 1991 and up to September 1992; (3) Deputy Kavanagh — the serious problem which has occurred in Woodfab Company Limited, Aughrim, County Wicklow, where 150 workers have been put on protective notice because of difficulty in purchasing new material — saw logs — for the factory; (4) Deputy Ferris — the breakdown of the GATT negotiations; and the resulting implications for Irish agriculture; (5) Deputy T. Ahearn — the fact that a win of £1,000 in a local GAA draw is preventing a first year student in UCC, the eldest of seven children — from being considered eligible for a maintenance grant; (6) Deputy Ryan — the threat to the future of Rogerstown Estuary, County Dublin, a national nature reserve and an area of scientific interest, in the context of the recent application to reclaim some 52 acres of the inner estuary for tiphead purposes; (7) Deputy McGinley — the failure of the Minister for Education to provide school transport to members of a family in County Donegal, details supplied, who have not attended school since the beginning of September; (8) Deputy Garland — the decision to award damages to a motorist whose car was stolen, having been left unattended with the engine still running; (9) Deputy J. Higgins — the need for the Minister for Education to formally approve a regional technical college for County Mayo; (10) Deputy J. O'Keeffe — the position of a person in receipt of social welfare who cares for an elderly relative at home without any recognition or payment and the need for the carer's allowance system to cover that situation and (11) Deputy Kenny — the question of a regional technical college being provided for Castlebar, County Mayo.
