Ceist:102 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will provide details of the proposed EC Dairy Hygiene Regulations; and the way in which they will be implemented in this country.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 100 and 102 together.
EC Directive 92/46 EEC, published in the EC Official Journal No. L268, of 14 September, 1992, (pages 1 to 32) sets out Community standards for the production and marketing of milk and milk products which will apply from 1 January 1994. The Regulations necessary to give legal effect to this Directive in Ireland will be drawn up in due course and in accordance with normal practice, I will be placing them before the House.
