Vol. 427 No. 2

Written Answers. - School Buildings Capital Allocation.

Dermot Ahern

Ceist:

217 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for Education the amount of the capital allocation for 1993 for all school buildings, primary, secondary and third level, in County Louth; if she will give details of the buildings in value, and the amounts involved in each case; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The allocation for capital purposes in 1993 in respect of primary, secondary and third level is £78.204 million which represents an increase of 7.5 per cent on the 1992 outturn.

The allocation includes the estimated expenditure in 1993 for County Louth of the order of £1.3 million in respect of major projects at St. Mary's Diocesan School, Drogheda, St. Oliver's Vocational School, Rathmullen, Drogheda and at the Regional Technical College, Dundalk. The overall capital allocation also includes a provision which could not be quantified for any particular region of the country to meet costs for emergency and essential minor works and additional temporary accommodation.
