Vol. 427 No. 7
28 Mrs. Doyle asked the Minister for Health if he will restore to expectant mothers the right to be private patients of their consultant but public patients of their hospital for the delivery of their child.
Under new arrangements for public hospital services introduced in June 1991, everyone regardless of income is entitled to public consultant services free of charge. Alternatively, one can opt to be the private patient of both the consultant and the hospital.
