34 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Health whether the capital programme provides for the implementation of the aspiration in the Programme for a Partnership Government 1993 to 1997 with particular reference to hospital building requirements and projections; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
My policy in relation to the health capital programme over the period covered by the Programme for a Partnership Government will be to consolidate and improve the infrastructure of the services, to reflect the priorities determined during the period. In accordance with the specific commitment incorporated in the programme, funds have been provided to enable the construction to start on the new Tallaght Hospital later in the year.
