Vol. 427 No. 7

Written Answers. - Relocation of Tenant.

Jim Mitchell

Ceist:

75 Mr. J. Mitchell asked the Minister for Finance the reason a tenant of an Office of Public Works residence for over 42 years (details supplied) has been approached and told she must leave the residence speedily for another residence some distance away; and if he will cancel this request and allow the person to live out her life in her present residence.

With a view to effecting much needed road safety works at Military Road, thereby improving the entrance to the Royal Hospital Kilmainham and adjacent property, the Commissioners of Public Works, in conjunction with Dublin Corporation, approached the tenant of the residence in question to discuss her possible relocation in suitable accommodation elsewhere. The tenant was not told that she must leave the residence and there is no question of her being moved without her consent.
