91 Mr. J. Mitchell asked the Minister for the Environment the changes, if any, he proposes in the process of deciding the issuing of new taxi plates in the Dublin area; and if it is his intention to issue any further taxi plates in the immediate future.
Following a comprehensive review of the law applying to the operation of small public service vehicles generally, I am at present considering a range of options for future action in this area. I do not intend to introduce fundamental changes in the present regulations, including those relating to the determination of taxi licence numbers, until such time as I have completed my consideration of all of the issues raised in the review.
