Vol. 427 No. 7

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Finucane

Ceist:

104 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the position regarding a beef premium under the 1991 scheme for a person (details supplied) in County Limerick; when the premium will be paid in view of the fact that the errors made by this person were genuine; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The person named applied for 1991 special beef premium on 18 animals. When he presented the cattle identity cards for these animals at the local livestock office on 17 September 1991 one was found to be already punched and one was in respect of a female animal. This constitutes a false declaration in the context of the EC Regulations governing the scheme and the applicant has to be debarred from the scheme for 12 months from 17 September 1991.

Frank Crowley

Ceist:

105 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when cattle headage, suckler cow and beef premium grants will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork; and the reason for the delay in issuing payment.

This person was paid his grants under the 1992 suckler cow and special beef premium schemes in early March 1993. His application for grants under the 1992 cattle and equines headage is being processed at present and payment will issue shortly. His December 1992 application for grants under the special beef premium scheme will be processed in due course.
