Vol. 427 No. 8

Written Answers. - Ministerial Appointments.

Eamon Gilmore

Ceist:

134 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Social Welfare the number of persons employed in his constituency office, his private office and those of his Minister of State; the rank of each person; and the salary paid.

My constituency office is staffed by four civil servants — one executive officer and three clerical officers — and my personal, Dáil, secretary. The Minister's Office which deals with social welfare inquiries from all over the country is staffed by ten civil servants — one private secretary, two executive officers, three clerical officers and four clerical assistants.

The office of the Minister of State at my Department, Ms. Joan Burton, TD, is staffed by five civil servants — one private secretary, one staff officer, one clerical officer and two clerical assistants — and her personal, Dáil, secretary

All staff are paid at the appropriate salaries for their grades.
