112 Mr. R. Bruton and Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment when he proposes to fulfil the commitment in the Programme for a Partnership Government 1993 to 1997 to introduce new legislation on unfair dismissals; and the purpose of the legislation.
The Unfair Dismissals (Amendment) Bill, 1993, was presented to Seanad Éireann on 4 March 1993 and the debate on Second Stage was commenced in that House on 10 March 1993. The publication of the Bill fulfils commitments under both the Programme for a Partnership Government and the Programme for Economic and Social Progress to bring forward amending legislation in this area.
