Ceist:

57 Mr. Connor asked the Minister for the Environment the number of group water scheme proposals from County Roscommon with his Department for sanction; the name of each scheme; the number of houses involved in each named application; the date on which each scheme was submitted for sanction; and the reason, in each case, for the delay in having these schemes sanctioned.

The information is set out in the following table:

Schemes under I and 2 are being examined at present and a decision regarding grant approval will be made as soon as possible. In the case of the other schemes listed, group scheme grants and contributions from group members are unlikely to suffice to finance these schemes, which in consequence, may require a substantial contribution from the provision for public water and sanitary services schemes. Having regard to the overall demands on the water and sanitary services programme, I cannot say when it may be possible to approve these schemes.
