Wexford): I refer to the reply to Question No. 262 of 10 February 1993. The review therein referred to is considering both incineration and non-incineration methods of hazardous waste treatment and disposal. As regards the latter, grant assistance has previously been made available by my Department for the provision of chemical and biological treatment/disposal systems for toxic waste. These facilities are now in operation. My Department has also commissioned a study on how to encourage the greater use of cleaner technologies.
