Ceist:81 Mr. Gregory asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs if he has received requests to send an observer to the trial of certain prisoners (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Written Answers. - Prisoners' Trial.
I explained my position generally with regard to this case in the answer which I gave on 9 March to the Deputy's question concerning this particular group of prisoners. A request to send observers to the court proceedings has been received on behalf of one of the prisoners. It is however not our practice to send observers on behalf of the Government to trials in Northern Ireland.
