Vol. 430 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grants to Voluntary Organisations.

Pat Cox

Ceist:

131 Mr. Cox asked the Minister for Social Welfare the grants, if any, that are available for voluntary organisations through his Department; and if he will give the section, the officer, the telephone number and address where further information can be obtained in respect of individual schemes.

My Department operates a scheme for grants to voluntary organisations working with disadvantaged groups and a scheme of grants for locally-based women's groups. These schemes are administered by the Community and Voluntary Support Services Section, Floor 2, Aras Mhic Dhiarmada, Store Street, Dublin 1.

My Department also operates a Community Development Programme and makes funding available for projects to tackle the problems of moneylending. These programmes are also administered by the Community and Voluntary Support Services Section.

Further information regarding the Schemes of Grants to Voluntary Organisations and to Locally-Based Women's Groups can be obtained by phoning (01) 7043827, while information regarding the Community Development Programme and funding available for projects tackling moneylending can be obtained by phoning (01) 7043964.
