Vol. 430 No. 8

Written Answers. - South Eastern Motorway.

Helen Keogh

Ceist:

176 Ms Keogh asked the Minister for the Environment if the Northern Spur of the South-Eastern motorway is going to be built.

Dublin County Council are preparing a feasibility/environmental impact study for that section of the so-called South Eastern motorway, between the N11 Shankill/Bray By-Pass and the proposed Southern Cross Route. This would complete the Dublin Ring Road, or C-Ring. There are no proposals before my Department for the development of a northern extension of the route. Any proposals for such an extension would have to be consistent with the long-term transportation strategy of the Dublin Transportation Initiative and the decision not to proceed with an Eastern By-Pass.
