Vol. 430 No. 8

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Seymour Crawford

Ceist:

186 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason a headage or suckler cow grant was not paid to a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan.

The application of the person named for grants under the 1992 cattle and equines headage scheme was rejected when subjected to a computer validation check. The problem with the application is being dealt with at present and when it is resolved the application will be processed further and if found in order payment will then be made.

The person named was not an applicant under the EC suckler cow premium scheme in the June 1992 application period but was an applicant in the December 1992 period. This application will be processed as soon as possible.

Jim Higgins

Ceist:

187 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason for the delay in the payment of a headage grant for 1992 to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo.

My Department is unable to trace an application for 1992 headage grants from the person named. An affidavit from him to the effect that he posted an application in early May 1992 is not being accepted as application forms were not available until mid-June 1992.

Jim Higgins

Ceist:

188 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the amount of grant which will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo; and when it will be paid.

As was recently explained to the Deputy, this applicant's claim is the subject of a query by the Ombudsman arising from representations made to his office on behalf of the applicant.

Arising from this query, my Department has further investigated the applicant's claim and a reply has now issued to the Ombudsman.
