Vol. 431 No. 2

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

John Ellis

Ceist:

104 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if a suckler premium for a small milk producer will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Sligo.

Under the EC regulations governing the suckler cow premium scheme for small-scale milk producers the person named was deemed to need four cows to produce his milk quota of 2,636 gallons. Since he has only four cows in his herd he has no cows which are surplus to his requirements to produce his quota, and he is thus ineligible for suckler cow scheme grants.

Ceist:

105 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if arrears of headage and suckler grants will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Sligo.

The person named will be paid shortly the balance of his 1991 suckler cow premium scheme grant, after the balance of a 1982 sheep headage scheme overpayment has been deducted.

He has been asked to produce evidence of land rented in 1991 and when that has been received his 1991 cattle headage application will be considered further. He is not due any 1992 cattle headage or premia grants as he failed to present his animals for inspection.
