Written Answers. - Marine Based Salmon Farms.

Ceist:

46 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for the Marine the number of marine based salmon farms licensed under the Fisheries Act, 1959; the locations and names of each salmon farm licensed under the Fisheries Act, 1959; and if an appeal has been lodged to the Supreme Court regarding the Ballyvaughan High Court Judgment in the Minister for the Marine v Vestobrook Ltd., Delivered by Mr. Justice Johnson on 26 May 1992.

A total of 12 marine based salmon farms are licensed under the Fisheries(Consolidation) Act, 1959. I have arranged for details of the names and locations of the operations in question to be circulated to Deputies.

I can confirm for the Deputy that an appeal to the Supreme Court against the judgement given by Mr. Justice Johnson in the High Court on 26 May 1992 has been lodged.
