Ceist:67 Mrs. Doyle asked the Minister for Finance whether Ireland was represented at the annual general meeting of the European Centre for Nature Conservation, that is, Centre Naturope; if so, if he will give the names of the representatives from both Government and non-governmental organisations.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 66 and 67 together.
The Council of Europe has designated 1995 as European Nature Conservation Year, ENCY. ENCY will be co-ordinated by the Centre Naturope at a European level, and by the national agent at a national level. The national agent for Ireland is the Office of Public Works as the national nature conservancy agency.
I will in the near future, be appointing a national committee with wide representation to oversee the organisation of appropriate actions to mark this event. Ireland was represented at the annual general meeting of Centre Naturope by a delegate from the Office of Public Works.
