The number of cases of tuberculosis recorded in my Department for the years in question is as follows:

My Department's policy in relation to tuberculosis is being examined by a working party under the chairmanship of the Chief Medical Officer of my Department. The group is examining all aspects of tuberculosis including notification, surveillance, treatment and contact tracing procedures. Their aim will be to ensure that there is an appropriate framework to deal with all problems associated with tuberculosis. I expect the group to report before the end of this year.
