Ceist:192 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason for the delay in the payment of headage for 1992 to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo.

The applications of the person named for grants under the 1992 cattle and equines headage and suckler cow premium schemes are being processed at present and payments will be made shortly. He was paid his grants under the June 1992 special beef premium scheme on 25 June 1993. He did not apply for grants under the special beef premium scheme in the December 1992 application period. The delay in making these payments arose due to a change in the registration of the herd number.
