199 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason a person (details supplied) in County Cork has not been paid the 1991 suckler cow premium.

Ceist:

200 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason a person (details supplied) in County Cork was not paid the suckler cow scheme grant in respect of all the animals for which he applied.

The person named applied for small scale suckler cow premium scheme grants on seven cows.

Under the EC Regulations governing this scheme he was deemed to need 18 cows to produce his milk quota of 12,351 gallons. Since he listed a total of 22 cows on his 1992 application he had only four cows surplus to his requirements to produce his milk quota and he was paid on these four cows in early February 1993.
