Vol. 434 No. 2

Written Answers. - Cork Courtroom Facilities.

Máirín Quill

Ceist:

178 Miss Quill asked the Minister for Justice the progress, if any, that has been made to date in the provision of additional courtroom facilities in Cork city; when the proposed facilities will become operational; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The position regarding the provision of courtroom facilities for Cork City is that I have approved a proposal to convert the Model School, Anglesea Street, Cork to use as a courthouse. Tenders for phase 1 of the project close today and work on this project will commence as soon as possible thereafter. It is expected that the adaptation work will take approximately 18 months to complete.
