Ceist:241 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for the Environment when funds will be allocated for the Tireagh Cross/Belville group water scheme in County Limerick; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 240 and 241 together.
Group scheme grants and contributions from group members are unlikely to suffice to finance these schemes which, in consequence, may require a substantial contribution from the provision for public water and sanitary services schemes. Having regard to the overall demand on that provision, I cannot say when it may be possible to approve these schemes.

Ceist:242 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for the Environment the current status of the Sugar Hill Meenoline group water scheme in County Limerick; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
My Department is awaiting Limerick County Council's approval of the group's design. When this is received, the proposals will be considered further.
