Ceist:

371 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health the number of visits his Minister of State has made abroad since taking up office; the destination, date and duration of these visits; for what purpose these visits were made; the number of officials and others who accompanied the Minister of State; the airline used on each visit; and the overall cost of each visit.

The Minister of State, Deputy O'Dea, made one visit abroad on official business since taking up office. He travelled to Brussels from 26 to 27 September 1993 to attend a meeting of the Internal Market Council and was accompanied by two officials. They travelled on Aer Lingus and the Government jet. The estimated total cost of this visit is £1,500.
