205 Mr. Carey asked the Minister for Education the current position regarding proposals of the County Clare vocational education committee for Ennis vocational school; whether she has approved additional work there to complement this application; and if her attention has been drawn to the fact that, in replying to correspondence (details supplied) from Deputy Donal Carey, no decision had been made for any proposals to be expedited in the immediate future.
Architectural planning of a major extension to replace unsatisfactory accommodation at this school is nearing completion and the project will be ready to go to tender in the near future. This extension will be considered for inclusion in the 1994 capital programme in the context of the available resources and the demands on those resources.
Following a recent examination of the school's long term requirements the Department has authorised County Clare vocational education committee to initiate architectural planning of an additional extension comprising 329m2 of specialist accommodation. The additional extension will be considered for inclusion in the capital programme on completion of architectural planning.
