Vol. 435 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

John O'Leary

Ceist:

51 Mr. J. O'Leary asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will have arrangements made for grants to be paid to small dairy farmers, with less than 25,000 gallons of milk quota, to enable them to qualify for a dairy licence with effect from 1 January 1994; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A scheme of a grant aid to assist eligible dairy farmers in achieving the on-farm structural standards required by the Directive 92/46/EEC is among the projects included in the National Development Plan 1994-99.

The precise terms of eligibility have not yet been decided.
