95 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Health the additional funds he has made available to the eight health boards to address the waiting lists for dental and orthodontic dental treatment; if he will give a breakdown of the waiting lists; the actual impact the additional funding has made on the waiting lists; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Under the Programme for Government I have provided an extra £2 million to health boards and health agencies in 1993 for the development of their dental and orthodontic services.
The maintenance of waiting lists for dental and orthodontic treatment is a matter for the health boards and I have referred this matter to chief executive officers of the health boards for their immediate attention and direct reply to the Deputy.
