Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Upton — The need to further develop the country's science and technology resources through research and development to improve the level of innovation in Irish industry; (2) Deputy Gilmore — The reply to Parliamentary Question No. 247 of 16 November, 1993, in relation to the need for the appointment of a fulltime caretaker at Our Lady of Good Counsel Girls School, Johnstown, Dún Laoghaire; (3) Deputy Connor — The inadequate level of rates support grant notified to local authorities for 1994 which fails to take account of the burden of commitments devolving on such authorities under the Programme for Economic and Social Progress; (4) Deputy Gay Mitchell — The need to pay mortgage interest supplement to mortgage holders such as persons (details supplied) in view of the hardship experienced by persons in these circumstances; (5) Deputy Brendan Smith — The need to make provision for a renal dialysis unit at Cavan General Hospital in the 1994 allocation to the North-Eastern Health Board; (6) Deputy Kenneally — The difficulties being experienced by handicapped pupils at St. Joseph's Special School in Waterford in moving between floors; and the need for urgent action in the matter; (7) Deputy Rabbitte — The announcement by the chairman of the Donagh O'Malley Regional Technical College, Letterkenny, County Donegal, that he has called in the Fraud Squad to investigate an alleged misappropriation of public funds; and related matters concerning the governing body of this college.
