Vol. 436 No. 4

Written Answers. - Petrol Prices.

Robert Molloy

Ceist:

117 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the reason there are petrol stations in Ireland allowed to advertise for only high grade octane unleaded petrol; and if, in view of the fact that if consumers used the low grade octane unleaded fuel, it would cost the consumer approximately £17 million less per annum.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply to Question No. 53 on 2 November 1993, particularly where I outlined the requirements of the Retail Prices (Petrol) Display Order (S.I. No. 423 of 1986).
